Alice In Wonderland

This week on the Director’s Cut Dan and Ollie truly find themselves in wonderland. They have guests, callers, and the show is (as hard as it is to believe) pretty funny. As always, they do their review of the movie, but this week Dan introduces The Big Sausage Game! There’s no Davenport pick this week, but some of our listeners try their luck against the devilish genius of Dan Gutierrez and Debra West. Just ask yourself: what would it sound like to say the Director’s Cut with your mouth stuffed with a giant sausage?

Cellphones + John McClain = bad ass!

This week on the Director’s Cut, Ollie and Sean go it alone! Dan decided to give Ollie a big “F you” and sit this week out. Oddly enough, the show wasn’t a total failure. The guys talked about movie info, the review, Debra’s News and Abuse, and get a Davenport pick. It was a full plate for Ollie and Sean, but they seemed to go dutch and divided it up accordingly. Last, they count down the top 10 police comedy movies. It’s the Director’s Cut! That two hour show about…. something.

Leo is upset

This week  Dan and Ollie do everything under the sun before ACTUALLY talking about the movie.  Plus, they get a call-in from Sean in Nashville, and Dan and Ollie come up with a challenge for our listeners in that area to take Sean’s girlfriend on a date and show Sean how it’s done. Later, Debra hits us with the latest in Hollywood and the guys count down the top ten movies that take involve an insane asylum. It’s kooky, it’s crazy, it’s the Director’s Cut… you know you love it!

Teenwolf + Airguitar = ROCK

This week on the Director’s Cut, ALL HELL BREAKS LOOSE! Dan has to start the show alone because Ollie was pulled over by the man and got two tickets. Because of that, Ollie agreed to allow Dan to shock him on the stomach and on the butt with a stun gun! Not only that, but he agreed to let Dan film it. Then Debra hits us with the News and Abuse, and we learn some interesting new facts about Hollywood celebs. Later, Davenport calls in to start a fight. It’s basically everything you expected: The Director’s Cut… and THEN some!

Paris is full of love!

This week on the Director’s Cut we have yet another double review. Sean and Ollie went to see From Paris With Love, but Dan saw Dear John. WEAK. Dan’s in dire need of a come to Jesus. Regardless, the guys give us the 411 on the new movies and actually give us a decent take on them. Plus, Davenport has a new pick of the week and Debra gives us the latest News and Abuse. Last but not least, we count down the top ten movies with a bald guy. Also, Captain KY sends a very special email, and Johnny Rocker threatens the entire cast! Next week, the guys are going to see The Wolfman… hopefully they ALL go to see the same movie. It’s the Director’s Cut, the guy’s show about movies… and a whole lot more!

When In Rome, do as Kristen Bell does...

This week, the Director’s Cut reviews When In Rome and The Edge of Darkness; but mainly When In Rome. Why, you ask? Because, once again, Sean was too good to see the movie of the week. This time, Dan and Ollie tag team the movie, and Ollie admits that he probably is Umberto (the hypersexual Italian brother-in-law). The guys had a lot to say, so be sure to check out their review. Plus, since Davenport wasn’t able to do a pick this week, it was lucky that Sean’s movie snobbery got the better of him and compelled him to see Edge of Darkness. His review makes Ollie mad and they go round and round. Regardless, the show was nuts. Dan instigates problems, Ollie gets amped and sings for three minutes, and Sean… well Sean just hates everything. It’s just another day of the Director’s Cut!

This Ice Cream Man is Angry

The week on the Director’s Cut we review the movie Legion. Dan was excited, Ollie was excited, and Sean… well nothing excites Sean. Which would probably explain why Sean went and saw The Tooth Fairy instead. Fortunately for us, Ollie (that jerk) started a new job and got dooped into staying late. Needless to say, he missed most of the show.  Plus, Davenport hits us with an interesting new review, talks about the movie Moon and his official pick is a movie directed by a friend of Doug Jones (The Ice Cream Man of Legion in photo on left ),  and calls Ollie out regarding a difference of opinion about Sherlock Holmes. That wasn’t all he had to say about Ollie either. Last, the guys also embark on yet another bet; this one involving Dan’s friend Brian, a Match.com profile, and a box of scorpions.

This week on the Director’s Cut, we review the new Denzel Washington film, The Book of Eli. Oddly enough, something surprising happens… we all said that Ollie should shave his nuts with a fork. We also count down the top 10 religious movies. Unfortunately, Davenport’s neck deep in his new video game release so we weren’t able to get a new pick, but you can check out what he’s picked in the past. Also, we finally eat the bacon-chocolate (bacolate) bar that’s been sitting in the studio for two months and we read your listener mail. Guess who gets sick (not because of the mail).  Last but not least, Dan comes up with a new, brilliant idea for a new podcast… Ollie wasn’t thrilled. Listen and find out what it was. Happy 2010! This week the Director’s Cut crew takes on the ENTIRE YEAR OF 2009! The guys give us a run down of the top 10 at the box office from last week, and what made the most money over the whole year. Then we get a pick of the year from Dan, Ollie, and Sean. After a recap of each of his varied picks, Davenport gives us his pick of the year. Finally, we get predictions for the future: Psychic Ana tells us what to expect for the new year, and if Ollie will continue to be the biggest waste of skin in North America. This week on the Director’s Cut we review Sherlock Holmes, AND Up In The Air. That’s right, it’s another double review! Listeners get two reviews for the price of one! Dan didn’t get to see anything, but that’s ok, Sean and Ollie cut to the quick as quickly as they can (which means then dragged out the review as long as they could.) Dan gets Ollie riled up when he puts him on the spot after the first review and the guys count down the top 10 detective movies, while spreading holiday cheer with a number of songs from Merkin Claus.

Dan also reveals some revolutionary ideas he has for 3-D and Ollie tells us about his favorite part.

This week on The Director’s Cut we had to see The Princess and The Frog. Why? Because Sean misguided the rest of the crew! We ask Sean if the movie The Lovely Bones was a wide release, to which he said, “It’s wide!” Wrong! So Dan and Ollie were forced to cuddle in the theater while watching the Princess and Frog flick. On an off topic, Dan needs to verify that Ollie’s t.v. is HD. Plus, the Guys debate racism in the film and we read your listener mail. Unfortunately, Davenport is very busy with a new video game release and was unable to give us a pick.  Regardless, it’s the Director’s Cut; that two hour show all about the movies!

A Serious Man by the Coen Brothers

We went to see “A Serious Man” – seriously.  Our Top Ten list this week is “Top Ten Ultimate Movies to Play In The Background During Your Halloween Party”; we didn’t have you vote.  Davenport gives us a pick starring Ron Jeremy and it has something to do with aliens, or gay Ollie I think.

Sean Gandert gets all film-elitist and fan boys out about “A Serious Man”. Ollie becomes a radio diva and complains that he had to produce and edit the show last week. We are terribly sorry he had to actually work instead of showing up 10 minutes before the show and just sit down and play radio star.

Rebecca hangs out with us and thinks we are idiots.  We eat pizza during the show again – mmmmm so good! Our Top Ten list for next week is “Top Ten Movies with Barnyard Animals” so don’t forget to vote!!!

The Director’s Cut reviews Surrogates starring Bruce Willis. Our top ten list this week was the Top Ten Movies with Actors or Characters with the Name of either Bruce or Willis (actors or characters with the name of both Bruce and Willis counted too). Davenport’s Pick of the Week is “The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas 2008″ (check out the book, it’s pretty good). Dan is stressed out with work, and somebody needs to tell him to stop crying, shut the hell up, and do the show (Bruce Willis should knock some sense into him, althought that’d be quite painful).

This is the “Mysterious Being”. I work with Dan and he is seriously stressed out. I don’t do much to help. I generally draw on his arm with a permanent marker and change his desktop picture. This week, I decided that I’d take a screenshot of his desktop, and set that as his background. Then, I moved all of his desktop files into a new folder. You get the picture. Dan doesn’t know I did that, so this fact might come as a shock to him…

This week on The Directors Cut Radio Program, we go back to war and take on the Inglourious Basterds. Quentin Tarantino’s latest movie  involves scalping and beating the crap out of nazi’s with a baseball bat. Even to our surprise, we came together for another week to bring you reviews, and try to pull you out of your stupid movie blues. Plus, Davenport calls in from CO and gives us a pick of the week. Indiana Jones' Pissed Off Alien

This week we take on the movie District 9. We count down the Top Ten Pissed-Off Alien Movies! Also, I think I was drinking too much, so you may notice slurred speech and insanity. Davenport has moved to Colorado. He is going to continue phoning in his picks. This week he’s not going to be able to do the show, because he’s moving boxes. But, Luke (and old friend of Davenport, Ollie and I) is in the studio to hang out and do the show with me. But he can’t do the show permanently either, he’s moving to Oregon next week. U.S.S. Flagg

This week we’re pulling out our plastic toys and are trying to battle Cobra. Ollie had a dusty U.S.S. Flagg in his mothers garage that we broke in and stole. We’re planning on putting it on ebay to see if we can make money for the radio show. Unfortunately since  he used it to sleep on it, it has several various stains on it and I don’t think we’ll make much. But, during the show, we review G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra. Orphan Girl is Creepy

Since the Summer movie season has slowed down we decided to review Orphan.  There is not much to say about that movie here, but if you listen to the show we have plenty to say. Well, about something. Our top ten list is top ten movies with Orphans. We count count down the movies that made Orphans stand up and say we are not forgotten.

Harry Potter is a small boy with a lightening bolt scar on his forehead. No different from Davenport. This boy though does have one minor difference that separates him from Davenport. The boy eventually grows up and finally gets some sweet tang. This week we review Harry Potter and The Half Blood Prince. We wonder only one thing, does this film lack the luster since time has passed between this and the previous one? Also, does dampening it down to a PG rating from the previous trend of PG-13’s cause a level weakening? What about the orgy sequence? Do we finally get to see beyond the opaque underwear that Emma Watson wears? Well all of these answers and more! But, you must listen to The Directors Cut! We are the Guys’ Show About Movies!

Naughty Cavemen and Cavewomen Take To The Streets

The beginning of time was a week ago. Unfortuanetly I didn’t put the post up in time. Also, we lost this weeks recording. So I’m batting 0/2. Well, I’m going to try to buy a second recorder this week so I can have a back up for my first one. This week Sean Gandert from Paste Magazine sits in to hang out and challenges Ollie Riggle in Spain to the ultimate battle wits. But if Seans’ girlfriend is reading this… he was never on the show. I think I last saw him hanging out with some hot redhead. The voice you hear on the podcast is not his… just a guy who really has the same intrests, voice inflection and lust for video games.

Leah Meyerhoffs "The Heist" for Converse

We review “The Taking of Pelham 123″ plus, we count down the top ten heist movies. Since Ollie has moved to Spain we are asking for you to send us your letters. You can tell him you love him, or you can tell him you think he’s an idiot for moving away. But, we know he’s still listening so send him some listener mail to let him know what you think. Well we are looking for a new co-host, or even better, just shutting down the show. We even asked Phil to come back as the co-host, but he lives across town and all he has is a motorcycle to get across town. The drivers in this city, I wouldn’t risk it either. Soon Davenport may move away. Also, Deb has been so busy it’s hard for her to pop by to run the show.

 So here we are, at another Directors Cut Crossroads.  Stay or go, what shall we do?

But, on the bright side, half of the staff at ReelzChannel wants to pop on the show, because they think it’s interesting. So I guess I’ll do this for a while longer let the Reelz Guys/Gals pop in for some fun.

Ratings/Downloads have been about the same so don’t think it’s due to lack of listeners. It’s just the show it’s self.

Debra Recording The Show

We broke the show again.

This week, as we pressed stop on our recorder after a great show… it froze. The show was lost. Since our recorder records directly to solid state media, it isn’t as easy as copying the file. To sum up what you missed, we reviewed Up. We said see it. The trailer didn’t give it justice. Also, Ollie and Debra was missing. Ollie was chasing tail. Debra was working. We had Brian and Justin, guys from Dan’s work, hang out. But to initate them into the world of The Directors Cut, we sent them out on the streets, (one wore a banana costume) and handed out T-Shirts. Other news, this show rocked even harder than last week! We reviewed Pride and Glory, and we count down the Top Ten Dirty Cop Movies. Davenport kind of had to rush through is pick because of Captain KY. This week Captain KY took our call to “find Ollie a date” to heart. He scoured the streets of the USA and couldn’t find anyone that would take our lovable Oliver seriously. So he went abroad and fronted an evaluation interview with a beautiful mailorder bride from Russia.
